Jane recieved a music scholarship to study and sing with the Elmslie Girls' choir and chamber choir for 5 years and then with the Rossall choir and chamber choir for 2 years where she became principal soloist in both choirs. With the Rossall choir, Jane did a tour of Prague and sang at cathedrals around Britain. With the Elmslie Girls' Choir, Jane sang at the Royal Albert Hall for Prince Edward. Jane also did a tour of Germany and Belgium with the Blackpool Youth in Harmony Choir and won many choral competitions. At the RSAMD, Jane was a member of the chamber choir with whom she performed Flos Campi in the Usher Hall at the Edinburgh Festival, L'Enfant du Christ by Berlioz at Paisley Abbey and Glasgow Cathedral, the Stravinsky Mass at RSAMD, Mahler's 2nd Symphony with RSAMD Symphony Orchestra and many concerts around Scotland. Jane was also a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and took part in many concerts around England.
